Savory Tomato Chive Toast is the savory king of fancy toast. It is full of flavor and spice (and everything nice). If you are a fan tomatoes and chives, you will love this savory tomato chive toast.

I went to the local farmer’s market to pick up these beautiful colorful tomatoes. They are absolutely gorgeous and bursting with flavor.
The chives, on the other hand, are from my own garden. If you follow me on instagram, you know I love my balcony garden! I grew so many plants this year – tomatoes, chives, jalapeno, watermelon, strawberry, zuchinni, basil, bunching onion, dill and cucumbers! All from a seed! They grew much larger than I ever imagined they would.
So, I am very proud to say that the veggies in this toast are all locally sourced!

I also used Kite Hill for the cream cheese on this toast. I love their cream cheese; I feel like it has a nice flavor to it. I also enjoy that they use almond milk for the base of their cream cheese. For this specific toast I used a plain cream cheese flavor, but I know that Kite Hill does make a chive one! I also am a big fan of tofutti cream cheese as well!
You all know that I am a big fan of fancy toast. I love it because it is so easy to make, yet so satisfying. This toast is especially easy! You need these simple ingredients:
- Your bread of choice (I used sour dough);
- Tomatoes;
- Fresh Chives;
- Cream Cheese;
- Sea salt; and
- Balsamic (optional).
That’s it! That is all you need. You can add more seasoning if you like, but I like to keep mine pretty simple.

Ingredients
3/4 cup of tomatoes, sliced;
2-3 tbsp of cream cheese;
1-2 tbsp of chives;
Pinch of sea salt;
Balsamic (optional); and
Two slices of bread (I used sour dough).
Directions
- Toast your bread to your liking.
- Smear cream cheese equally on both slices.
- Layer on tomato slices.
- Sprinkle on the chive and sea salt.
- Drizzle with balsamic!
